Ruby Vandell Crooks

Ruby Caroline Vandell Crooks passed away on January 6, 2010 in Lucas, Iowa.  She had been a member of the DAR since 1982 and was also a member of the Eastern Star.  Ruby and her twin sister Ruth were always active in trying to preserve the Vandell family tree and contributed gretly to the Vandal Family Reunion that was held in Lucas, Iowa.  

Ruby Crooks was the daughtr of Charles Dillard and Dora Casey Vandell.

Donald Eugene Vandel 

Donald Eugene Vandel passed away on May 30th, 2011 as reported by his son Greg.  Don was born on May 19, 1936 in Alliance, Nebraska.  He was a Boeing machinist by trade and played the part of Santa Clause for many years along with his wife, Carole, playing Mrs. Clause in Kent, Washington.  He attended many of the Vandal reunions over the years, regaling all of his cousins with his stories about the children who sat on his lap.

R. Dean Vandall

It is with a heavy heart that we must report ot you the passing of our President,  
R. Dean Vandall on October 21st, 2007 in St. Joseph, Michigan.  No one in our  
family had a greater vision of the importance of remembering our heritage. Since
becoming our President in 1995, he did all that he could to try to encourage us to
reach out to all descendents of Abraham and Mary Vandal, making them feel as 
if they are part of a very special family.  He will be sorely missed by all of his      
many cousins.                                                                                                       
Dean was the first of four children born to Charles Roy and Reatha Vandall.  He
attended Bethel College in Mishawaka, Indiana and had a career in automotive  
parts as parts director for two dealerships which had seven new car Franchises.

Russell G. Vandall

Russell G. Vandall, 95, died October 30, 2006 at Beckley Appalacian Regional    
hospital following a long illness.  Born October 6, 1911 at Backus Mountain in   
Fayette County, WV he was a son of the late Samuel DAvid and Cora Alice        
Crotty Vandall.  He was a retired coal miner, having spent 40 plus years in the   
mines, and was a member of UMWA.  He attended Terry Christian Independent
Church and Chestnut Knob Baptist Church.

Leota Vandall, 89, died Sunday, May 13, 2007 at her home in Meadow Bridge          
following a long illness.  Leota was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Meadow
Bridge for more than 30years and was a homemaker.   She was preceded in death by 
          her husband, Earnest Vandall.

Chuck Hield and Louise Crowe



Chuck Hield (our family historian) and Louise Crowe were married on May 27th, 2006 in Arlington, Texas.  Louise had lost her first husband, Jim, of 44 years in 2004 and Chuck
lost his wife of 45 years, Edith, in 2003.  Louise is from The Hague, The Netherlands     
 where they hope to visit in 2007.  For their honeymoon they traveled for four months in
Colorado in their RV.

Ashton Lee Lowe, age 1 of Smithfield, PA, passed away Wednesday, August 16, 2006.
Ashton was born on August 13, 2005 in Pittsburgh, PA, the son of William H. Lowe 
and Becky Louise Guthrie.  Interment was in the Jacobs Lutheran Cemetery,           
Masontown, PA.

Robert Lee Lowe



Robert Lee Lowe, 68, departed from this world on Sunday, April 3, 2005.  Beloved husband of Frances M. (Vandall), Robert was born on March 30, 1937 in Georges Township, Fayette County, Pennsylvania to parents William Leslie Lowe and Ruby  Katherine Kennison.  He lived most of his adult life in Michigan and retired from Ford Motor company in June, 2001.

Beulah DeEtta Vandall Summerfield

Beulah Summerfield passed away on December 2, 2004 in Newport News, Virginia.  She was born on December 27, 1916 in Elton, West Virginia and was married to Seth Milton Summerfield, Jr., deceased.  Beulah Summerfield completed formal through 8th grade.  She achieved the equivalent of a Ph.D. in "life" and the equivalent of a Doctor of Divinity in "bible knowledge and spiritual discernment".
She worked outside the home for a few years in a school kitchen.  Her true   
occupation was not of this world.  She was known far and wide as a mighty prayer warrior and bible scholar with supernatural connections directly to the Heavenly Father.  While always a blessing to those around her, she worked diligently to lay up her treasures in heaven.  She was a pillar of West Hampton Baptist Church, Hampton, Virginia for six decades, teaching generations of young Christians and serving in untold other roles.

James Leslie Zeimet  

Born December 5, 1926 to Michael John Zeimet and Verna Grace Davidson in Pringle, South Dakota.  He graduated from Custer High School in 1944 and served in the U.S. Navy from 1944 to 1946.                                             
Jim married Sue Laree Vandel in Rapit City, South Dakota on June 8, 1955.  Earned his living as a rancher on the family farm all of his life.  To supplement the family income he worked many side jobs, incluging working for the Black Hills Lime Company and as a school bus driver.  Jim's hobbies include fishing and spending time with his family, who he loved dearly.  Jim could always be counted on as a very special husband, father and grandfather who will be missed.  He is a past member of the Custer South Dakota roping club and a past member and Chielf of the Pringle Volunteer Fire Department.               
Jim died at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Hot Springs,     
South Dakota on November 24, 2004.  He was 77 years old.

Patsy Jean Chesrown

Patsy Jean Chesrown, of Brocton, Illinois, died on November 28, 2004.  Mrs. Chesrown was born on September 4, 1934 in Elbridge Township, Edgar County, Illinois, the daughter of James E. Breneman and Elizabeth Brubb Breneman. She married Dan W. Chesrown Jr. on April 14, 1957 at Paris, Illinois.  She was a member of Eastern Star #420 in Oakland, and she was in a bowling league for a number of years.

Martha Mae Vandale

Martha Mae (Littleton) Vandale, 74, of Goose Run Road, Marietta, Ohio, died on Thursday, July 29, 2004.  She was born on March 20, 1930, in Indiana, a daughter of the late David and Nina Schafer Littleton.  She spent most of her life in the Marietta area.

Benjamin Woods Van Del

Benjamin Woods Van Del died Tuesday, August 3, 2004 at Overland Park,
Kansas at the age of 93.                                                                              
Ben was a 30 year long employee of TWA as Director on International      
Adverstising.  He had been based in Paris, London, New York City and    
Saudi Arabia.  For the past 26 years he was employed as a counselor with 
AGRI-Associates.                                                                                       
He was a long time member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, a former       
member of the Vestry and was a church usher for over 25 years.  He was a
member of the S.A.R., a former officer officer of the Westport Historical
Society, member of the Alliance Francaise, a chevalier of the Wine Tasters
Society of Burgundy, France and the English speaking Union of Kansas  
City, Missouri.                                                                                          
During World War II, he served two years overseas as a weather             
forecaster in the U.S.Air Force as a member of the 19th Weather            
Squadron attached to the Air Transport Command and head-quartered 
in Cairo, Egypt.

Gladys E. Vandall Walker

Gladys E. Vandall Walker, 76, of Fort Meyers, Florida died Wednesday, July 14, 2004.  She passed way in Tampa General Hospital, Tampa, Florida.  She was born in Meadow Bridge, West Virginia and resided in Hampton, Virginia for several years.  She worked in Hampton and was employed by B-Lo's grocery and after  retiring in Forida by Tice Foodway and Dr. Piper's Center of Social Services in Fort Meyers, Florida.  She was a faithful member of Olga Baptist Church in Fort Meyers.  She was entombed in Fort Meyers Memorial Gardens.                  
She was the daughter of Clervan and Nora (Zickafoose) Vandall.

Margaret Jean Vandale Wolford

Margaret Jean Wolford, longtime resident of Tucson, Arizona, passed away on May 4th, 2004.  Jean, as her friends knew her, was born and raised in Charleston, WV and retired to Tucson with her husband, Jim, 26 years ago to be grandparents in an extended family.  Jean wasa very active in the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), Colonial Dames of the 17th Century, school activities, garden clubs, and was secretarial assistant to the Secretary of the Elks Lodge in Charleston for many years.  In addition, she made a great contribution to the research of the Vandal family.  She will be missed by her many Vandal cousins.

Marie Vandell Johnson

Marie Vandell Johnson, 80, died April 30, 2004 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston, Iowa.  Marie was born January 18, 1924 in Linveville, Iowa to Charles and Dora Vandell.  She lived in Des Moines most of her life.  She also lived in Humeston, Derby and Spring, Texas.  She was a member of Miller United Methodist Church and served as a Wave in the US Navy during WWII.  She is survived by her husband, Boyse Johnson of Ankeny, Iowa.

Harriet Saurborne Rigney

Harriet Saurborne Rigney, 79, widow of Marshall L. Rigney, formerly of Huntington,  WV, died Thursday, March 13th, 2003 in Baltimore, MD.  Harriet was a graduate of Marshall University.  She worked as a counselor in Vocational Rehabilitation at Huntington StateHospital and left Huntington in 1962 to relocate her family to Baltimore, MD where she accepted a position with the State of Maryland as Director of Vocational Rehabilitation at Rosewood State Hospital.  She then went to work for Baltimore County Board of Education as a school Psychologist until 1992 when she retired.

Colleen D. Holler

Colleen D. Holler passed away this past December 14th, 2003 in Torrington,
Wyoming at the age of 75.  She was the daughter of Vern and Alta Vandel 
McElhaney.  Colleen was an avid rock hound and she loved huting.  She   
enjoyed spending time at Esterbrook near Laramie Peak and being with   
her children and grandchildren.  Her family would agree that she was the 
best pie maker in the world.  She was affiliated with the River of Life       
Church and was a member of the Studebaker Drivers Club.

  Glenna Vandall Bailes, 94, passed away on Sunday, July 27, 2003 at
Hilltop Nursing Home following a short illness.  Born Jan. 25, 1909 at

Hilltop Personal Care for nine years.  She was a member of the Carlisle
Church of God.  Her husband, James William Bailes, preceded her in

Edith Buehler Hield passed away on October 6, 2003 in Fort Worth,
Texas.  She was born on July 24, 1933 in Ansbach, Germany and met
Chuck Hield when he was stationed there in the Army.  They married
later in Independence, Missouri where she owned her own beauty   
shop, the Lovely Lady Style Salon.  She was devoted to her family  
and nurtured the love that binds them so closely together. Her          
husband, Chuck Hield, is the son of Charles and Nita Vandel Hield.

Neal Mack
 
Neal Mack, the husband of Ann Mack (our 2003 Reunion
coordinator) passed away on October 20, 2003.  Neal was born
June 4, 1953 and was raised in Brookfield, Wisconsin.  He lived
in Indianola for 13 years before moving to West Des Moines in
1989.  He earned his Bachelor's degree in Business from the
University of Wisconsin, Stevens Point.  He completed the
Athletic Trainer program at Simpson College and went on to
earn NATA Bboard Certification.  He had been an athletic
trainer since 1987.  Neal worked at Meredith/Burda and RR
Donnelley Printing for 17 years.  He was employed by the
Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Center at DMOS in West
Des Moines for the last nine years.  He was the Valley High
School head Athletic Trainer since 1990 and the Coordinator
of Athletic Training and Sports Medicine Services for Iowa
Health Systems in Des Moines.  He was co-owner of RIP CITY
Indoor Softball Training Facility in West Des Moines.  Neal
was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church.

His wife, Ann Crooks Mack is the daughter of Wilford and
Ruby Vandell Crooks.

Freddy Vandeale

Freddy Vandaele, born 11 October, 1947, died April 2, 2002.  Freddy has been our
Belgium contact for several years now.  He and our Family Historian have been
trying unseccessfully to figure out if there is a connection between our Netherlands
ancestor, Evert Janse Wendell, and his Vandaele ancestors.  Perhaps sometime in
the future we will be able to establish the link.  Some of his family sent us a death
notice since they knew he had been working with us.  We are sad to hear of his
passing.

James Erickson Wolford, 83, the husband of JeanVandale Wolford, died May 9,
2002 in Tucson, Arizona.
James was born May 7, 1919 in Giles and lived in Charleston most of his life.
He was a former owner of Electronic Specily Co., anr of Hurricane; also a World
War II veteran of the Navy.  James retired 22 years ago and moved to Tucson.

Diana L. Harrah

Diana Lynn Vandall Harrah, 48, died Tuesday, June 26, 2001.  Born August 3,
1952 in Hinton, WV, she was the daughter of Cecil "Tom" and Winnie Gwinn
Vandall of Meadow Bridge.
Mrs. Harrah was a 1970 graduate of Sandstone High School and a member of
Lane United Methodist Church.  She was employed by Massie Insurance
Agency in Hinton.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Summers and Lou
Gwinn and her paternal grandparents, William and Cynthis Vandall.

Charles Orren Vandall

Charles Orren Vandall, 80, of Oak Hill, WV died Sunday April 12, 1998 at an
Oak Hill hospital following a long illness.  Born October 8, 1917 at Backus
Mountain, he was the son of the late Samuel D. and Cora Alice Eagle Vandall.
Mr. Vandall was a retired coal miner of New River Company, a retired
electrician with Gibson Electric and a member of the UMWA District 17.

Samuel "Bill" Vandall Jr.

Samuel William "Bill" Vandall Jr., 69, of Stanaford, WV went to be with his
Lord on Thursday, January 31, 2002 at his home following a long illness.
Born January 1, 1933 at Laurel Creek, WV he was the son of the late
Samuel William Sr. and Bernice Harrah Vandall.
Mr. Vandall was a retired coal miner and a member of Hilltop Baptist
Church where he was a deacon and teacher.  He was an avid deer hunter
and fisherman.  He was a U.W. Air Force veteran having served in the
Korean War and received the Korean Service Medal, the U.N. Service
Medal with two Bronze stars and the National Defense Service Medal.

Cecil David Vandall

Cecil David Vandall, 77, of Meadow Bridge died at home Tuesday, July2, 2001.
Born September 25, 1923 at Elton, he was the son of the late William and Cynthia
Gwinn Vandall.
He was a disabled coal miner, a member of the United Mine Workers, District 29,
and a member of Lane Church of Christ.
Mr. Vandall was preceded in death by a daughter, Diana Harrah, a sister, Sylvia
and two brothers, Grady and Calvin.

Anna Hean Porterfield-Vandall

Anna Hean Porterfield-Vandall died October 28, 2001 at her home in Crystal
River, Florida.  Wife of Coy Bradly Vandall Sr., mother of five, grandmother of
twelve, and great grandmother of four.  She was buried on October 31, 2001 at
Indian Hills Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.  At age 73, her fight with Lou Gehrig's disease was over.

Margaret T. Vandall

Margatet Therese Vandall, age 53 of Elkhart, Indiana, died on Thursday,
September 27th in Elkhart General Hospital.  Margaret had resided in the Elkhart
area since 1966 coming from Allegan, Michigan.  She was born on April 9, 1948 in
Allegan to John and Beatrice (Waldron) Zugel.  Her parents and her brother,
Joseph John Zugel preceded her in death.
On March 31, 1973, in Walkerton, Indiana, she married R. Dean Vandall.
He survives along with three sons; R. Dean Jr. (Bill Liskow) Vandall of South
Bend; Thomas Lee Charles (Lesa) Vandall and Jason Anthony (Katie) Vandall,
both of Mishawaka, Indiana; four grandchildren: Dakota, Casidhe, Stephanie
and Shannon.
Margaret enjoyed golf, traveling, reading, art and devoted much of her time to
organizing and helping her entire family.

June Vandale Varda, 78 of Spencer, WV, died July 27, 2001 at the Roane General  Hospital, Spencer.  She was born June 24, 1923 in Roane County, a daughter of the

Vandale.  She was president of the McIntosh hardware, a graduate of Spencer
High School Class of 1941, a homemaker, and a former Cub Scout teacher and
catechism class teacher.  She was formerly active in the Junior Womens Club and
was an active member of the Holy Redeemer Catholic Church.

Coal Company as a mine foreman with 50 years of service in the mining

Elizabeth Eden Vandall Thompson, 87, of Lorain, Ohio, formerly of Carlisle, died Saturday, May 27, 2000 at Community Health Partners, Lorain, following a lingering illness.
Born June 4, 1912 in Layland, she was the daughter of the late Quilla and Nineveh
Arthur Vandall.  Mrs. Thompson was a retired seamstress and a 40 year member of
Broadway Assembly Church, where she was active as a Sunday school teacher, and worked with arts and crafts in the church.  She was preceded in death by her
husband, Charles Alfred Thompson, on June 28, 1990; a daughter, Loma Thompson
in September, 1999.

James Lloyd Vandall, 68, of Hix, WV died May 9, 2000 at his home following a
sudden illness.  Born Jan. 25, 1936 in Sandstone, he was the son of the late Earl and Ina Taylor Vandall.  Mr. Vandall was a retired heavy equipment operator and a
member of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local No. 132.  He was
a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.  He was also a member of the Princeton
Moose Lodge and Fraternal Order of Eagles, and of the Baptist faith.

Grace I. Adkins, 76, of Walkerton, Ind., passed away on  Feb. l, 2000 in South Bend, Ind.  Grace was born Feb. 5, 1923, in Meadow Bridge, WV t Clerven H and Nora E.
(Zickafoose) Vandall, and had lived in Walkerton for 36 years, coming from Chicago,
Ill.  She was a homemaker, and a member of the First Baptist Church of Walkerton.
On Aug. 20, 1940, in Cattlesburg, KY, she was married to Herman C. Adkins, who     preceded her in death on Jan. 26, 1986.

Cecile G. Morgan

Cecile Grace Morgan, 100, of Mineral Wells, WV died March 22, 2000 at the
Willows Nursing Home.  She was born in Fulls Fork, Wirt County, a daughter of the
late Leander and Fannie Fern Nuzum Vandal.  She had formerly taught school in
Wirt County and assisted her husband while he served as assessor in Wirt County.
She was a member and former pianist for Big Tygart United Methodist Church and
was active in the United Methodist Women.  She was a founder and member of the
Saulsbury Homemakers Club and served as a grandmother to the Saulsbury 4-H
Club.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Felix Walker Morgan in 1968
and three sisters.

Benjamin Vandall

Brief funeral services for Thomas Benjamin Vandall, 92, Summers County's last
surviving veteran of the War Between the States, were held at the Meadows
Funeral Parlor after his death on January 9, 1940.  Services were held under the
auspices of the Hinton chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy.  The
coffin of the aged veteran was dracped in the flag of the Confederacy.
Mr. Vandall was born at Montcoal, WV on June 13, 1848.  At the age of 17 he
enlisted in the Confererate army, being stationed first with the Wallace battalion
at Richmond, VA and later with Company Ca at Charlottesville, VA.

Skating Club, the Bridegroom is a 1995 graduate of Concord High School.  He is    attending Purdue  University working on his engineering degree.

Ella S. Vandall, 97, of Marmet died December 15, 1999 in Montgomery General
Elderly Care after a long illness.  She was a member of Marmet Church of the

James William Vandall, 74, of Gradley, died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 1999, at his
home following a short illness.  Born March 7, 1925, in Meadow Creek, he
was the son of the late Wilbur "Chip" and Annie Clements Vandall.
Mr. Vandall was a retired coal miner, a member of Bradley Presbyterian
Church and the UMWA.   He was a World War II U.S. Army Air Corps
veteran.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Margie Jewell Vandall, on
Feb. 9, 1998, two brothers, Wilbur "Buster" Vandall and Jessie Vandall,
and a sister, Pauline Berry.
Survivors include a son, David Vandall of Bradley; a daughter, Linda
Moore of Reisterstown, MD; three brothers, Robert Vandall of Beloit,
Ohio; Chester A. Vandall of Bradley and Tom Vandall of Beckley; three
sisters, Wanda McMillion of Bradley,; Hester Holliday of Beckley and Ruth
Snuffer of Bradley; two grand-children, Eric Vandall of Bradley and Keishe
Maldonado of Baltimore; and a great-grandson, Tyler James Vandall of

  Russel Ray Keller
     Russel Ray Keller, second son of Guy Dean and Lois Marie Vandel Keller was born on April 12, 1951 in Leon, Iowa and died of injuries sustained in a  car accident near              Raleigh, North Carolina July 19, 1999 where he made his home
     Russel graduated from Central Decatur High School in Leon, Iowa in 1969.  He served in the United States Army overseas in Viet Nam from March 24, 1971 to April 8, 1972    when he received an honorable discharge.  He worked with his dad doing plumbing and   construction work for awile after he got out of the army.
Russel married Loretta Mae Northway on May 18, 1974 in Lamoni, Iowa and to this
union three children were born, Kimberly Dawn Keller, Daniel Guy Keller and David     Russel Keller.
He graduated from Southwestern Community College in Creston, Iowa on May 13, 1977.  He worked as a computer programer of the IBM Co. in Binghamton, NY, Charlotte, NC    and Raleigh NC.  While living in Cary he was granted a lifetime membership in the VFW
in Cary because of his tireless voluntry service with the organization.

Robert Ellison

Some sad news from the Vandall's of Pittsburgh.  Uncle Bob (Robert Ellison, husband of Peggy Vandall, father of Bobby and Patty) died on October 28, 1999.  Aunt Peg (Evelyn  Margaret Vandall) is my dad's sister.  That puts her in your fifth generation group.  Their father was John Marshall Vandall married to Eva Forsythe.

HAROLD ROY VANDEL
Harold Roy Vandel, son of James Anderson Vandel and Mary Ellen
Wright Vandel, was born November 4, 1913 in Lineville, Iowa,
and passed away at 11:20 p.m. Saturday, February 6, 1999 in
Marshfield Care Center, at the age of 85 years, 3 months and 2 days.
Roy lived many years in Houston, TX where he was a building
contractor and co-owned and operated a hardware store until he
retired to Marshfield in 1983.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II on the hospital

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Reta Mae; two sons and
their wives, Allen and Shirley Vandel, Springfield, and Dr. Jerry
and Diana Vandel, Austin, TX; a daughter and her husband,
Marilyn and Bryan Schempf, Poguoson, VA; grandsons, Darin
Vandel and Jeremy Vandel; granddaughters, Lorrie Mackey,
Cara Vandel, Allison Schempf, and Laura Schempf; 7 great-
grandchildren; and a sister, Grace Boyd, Houston, TX: and a
host of other relatives and friends.

Christopher Ralph Hartwell and Susan Noelle Bowman were united in marriage  October 17, 1998 at Nellis Air Force Base Chapel in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Thomas Lee Charles Vandall and Lesa Cress tied the knot July 1, 1998.  Thomas is the son of R. Dean and Margaret Vandall of Elkhart, IN., the grandson of Charles Roy Vandall.
For Whom the Bell Tolls
Margaret Ann Vandall Frame Steinhofer, 62, of Walkerton, Indiana died            September 17, 1998 on St. Joseph's Medical Center, South Bend, Indiana.
Margaret is the daughter of the late Clervan and Nora Zickafoose Vandall.
She was born in Meadow Bridge, West Virginia.  On Feb. 3, 1956 at Fores
Ville, Maryland she married David Boyd Frame.  He preceded her in death on March 16, 1993.  She married Frank Steinhofer on Dec. 30, 1990 who          survives.
Mrs. Steinhofer was an active member of the Walkerton First Baptist
Church.  Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery in Walkerton, IN.  Margaret had attended all the Vandal Reunions for the past several years.

For Whom the Bell Tolls - Jeff Vandale Sr.
Jeff Vandale Sr., 71, of Spencer died Tuesday, Nov. 18, 1997 at Charleston Area Medical Center, Memorial Division.
He was born in Roane County, a son of the late William and Ivy Mahan Vandale.  He was a retired farmer and former teamster in the timber industry.

GLORIA J. VANDALL
Railelle - Gloria June Vandall, 67, died Tuesday, Feb. 10, 1998 in a Beckley hospital          following a long illness.
Born Aug. 24, 1930, at  Meadow Bridge, she was the daughter of the late Paris and            Jeannette Gwinn Lewis.
Mrs. Vandall was a retired seamstress and supervisor for the Isratex Corporation,   was a homemaker and was of the Holiness faith.  She was preceeded in death by    her husband, Dewey Vandall, five brothers, Lacy, Garland, Andrew, Edison and    Howard: six sisters, Ethel Cooper, Pauline Dixon, Clara Noble, Jessie Gwinn,         Bernice Gill and Marguerite Lewis.  Survivors include a son, David Vandall and his wife, Drema, of Rainelle: two daughters, Joan Fisher of Rainelle: and Kathy Dorsen and her husband, John of Ru[ert: Four grandchildren, Michael Vandall, Jennifer       Vandall, Christopher Vandall, all of Rainelle, and Jeremiah Dorsey of Rupert.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Smathers Funeral Home Chapel, Rainell,     with the Rev. Carlos Lewis officiating.  Burial will follow in the DeQuasie              Cemetery, Lockbridge.

On January 25, 1997, Felecia Jane Clifton was born to Danny and Michael Harris Clifton of Meadow Bridge, West Virginia. Michael is the daughter of Bob and the late Betty Vandall Harris and the grand daughter of Clerven and Nora Vandall.

On May 23, 1997, Emmett Vandall Bumgarten was born to Paul and Lon Frame Bumgarten on Indianapolis, Indiana. Lori is the daughter of the late David and Margaret Vandall Frame Steinhofer of Walkerton, Indiana and grand daughter of Clerven and Nora Vandall.
