Joe attended school in Davis City and lived there until he entered the army.
He served during the Korean War from September 3, 1952 to June 3, 1954,
receiving the Korean Service Medal w/2 Bronze Service Stars, National Defense
Service Medal and United Nations Service Medal. He was honorably discharged.
He was united in marriage to Betty Jean Webb on March 11, 1955, in Davis City.
Joe and Betty were married 39 years. No children were born to this union.
They lived in Bellevue, Nebraska 21 years and moved to Leon, Iowa in 1985 and
lived there until his death.
