45. Joseph Dan "Joel" VANDAL was born on 20 Jan 1824 in Green Sulp. Spg, Greenbrier, Virginia. He died on 9 Apr 1900 in Millbrook, Fayette, West Virginia. !From Vandal Newsletter of January, 1992.
Joseph Dan Vandal was born on January 20, 1824 near Green Sulphur Springs in
Greenbrier County, Virginia. He was one of the seven children born to Joel
and Charity (Davis) Vandal. He married Elizabeth J. Fox on February 1844.
The couple had 12 children. Joseph Dan Vandal served in the Confederate Army
during the War Between the States.
He was a Private in Company B., 60th Infantry, 3rd Regiment, Wise Legion, and
in Company C., 46th Virginia Infantry, Wise Legion, and in Company C., 46th
Virginia Infantry, Wise Brigade. He also served in Thurmond's Partisan
Rangers. He died on April 9, 1900.

Green Sulphur District in Summers County, W. Va.

A good old gentleman by the name of Joseph Vandale, died a few days ago near
Millbrook, in this County. He was a lively old gentleman and respected by all
who knew him.
