John K. Vandel was born February 13, 1878 at Pleasanton, Iowa. A retired
section foreman for the Chicago Burlington and Quincy Railroad, he had worked
for the railroad for 40 years. He came to Torrington from Bridgeport 39 years
ago. He married Ruhana Jones at Beatrice December 26, 1901. Mr Vandel was a
member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
